Youth Fellowship
The United Methodist Youth Fellowship program is designed for youth in grades 6-12. Our activities include weekly youth meetings on Sunday evenings, Senior High Prayer Breakfast on Fridays, various youth retreats, fundraisers and mission work. Through extensive teaching of God’s word, our program concentrates on guiding youth as to how to serve God’s purpose through day to day living.
Our Youth Director is Julie Lawson, who brings both experience and passion to her ministry with the youth. A native of Crawfordville, Georgia, Julie is a 1995 graduate of the University of West Georgia where she received a degree in Therapeutic Recreation. She worked in the recreation field for eight years before experiencing the call into Youth Ministry.
“It was five years ago that God led me to serve at Bremen First United Methodist Church,” Julie says. “I love being a Youth Director and am so thankful for the opportunity to work in that capacity.”
Julie and her husband Stan, a special education teacher in Douglas County, along with daughter Kasey, a first grader and son Colton, a one year old, Julie adds, “We all love the outdoors and enjoy spending our free time at our farm in Talladega, Alabama.”
