Drop Off Procedure

Teachers assigned to the front door will start unloading cars at 8:20. There will be someone at the door until 8:35. Please have your child ready to exit the car quickly to keep the line moving. If you arrive after 8:35, please park and walk your child to the door and ring the bell. You may also walk your child into school on any day at 8:20. Our preschoolers are busy from the moment they arrive, so we do ask that if you walk your child in, you limit your visit to 10 minutes. Our teachers appreciate your help in keeping the classroom on schedule and uninterrupted. If your child is having difficulty feeling comfortable being dropped off, you are welcome to stay as long as you wish and observe your child from outside the classroom. We have found that prolonging the separation experience for more than 10 minutes causes unnecessary stress and anxiety in the classroom.

Early Drop Off Program

This year we will be opening a play room at 7:30 a.m. each school day. If you would like to drop your child off, please ring the bell and a teacher will assist you. The cost of this program is $2.00 per day per child. This fee is due the morning of drop off.

Pick Up-Dismissal Procedure

Dismissal will begin at 11:55. The four year pre-k class will have a different pick up area. Your child’s teacher will go over this with you. Each car must have a preschool issued name card visible in the window. All parents are required to go through the car line. The teachers will be focusing on loading cars and will not carry on conversations during this time. If you need to speak with your child’s teacher, you must go through the car line, park and come in after all children have been loaded. For safety reasons, parents will not be permitted to park and walk up to the dismissal area to pick up your child at the door. If there is a need to pick up your child early from preschool, please come before dismissal time begins. If at any time your child will be picked up by anyone other than the names on your registration form, a note MUST be written to the teacher with the person’s full name. We will check driver’s license.
